Magnificent finale in first day of the International Show Jumping n in Madrid with the CaixaBank Trophy, the first scoring round event for the Global Champions League.
Very expensive have been quoted the clear rounds in the green track of Club de Campo Villa de Madrid; 15 riders have been classified for the jump off, finishing the course without fail, including two Spaniards Eduardo Álvarez Aznar and Sergio Álvarez Moya, fourth in the standings.
After the withdrawal of 3 pairs, 12 riders have competed for the close tiebreaker. The German-based Swedish Henrik von Eckermann has proclaimed himself the winner by taking the top spot by 32 cents to Denis Lynch. The time of the winner, on the back of Chacanno, with which comes from winning two tests in La Baule, was 38.27. Finally Lynch has qualified in third position and the French rider Simon Delestre in second.
This same CaixaBank Trophy also served as the first round of the Global Champions League. Four teams remain ahead of the standings with 0 points: Mexico Amigos, St. Tropez Pirates, Hamburg Diamonds and Cannes Stars. Representing the team “Madrid in Motion” have jumped to the track Gonzalo Añón and the Dutchman Maikel van der Vleuten, finishing with an accumulated today of 8 points.
The British, Emily Moffitt, remains the current leader of the Iberdrola additional trophy, being the best rider to date.
