“DOMA VAQUERA” MASTERS CUP, THE GREAT NOVELTY OF MADRID HORSE WEEK’S FIFTH EDITION

For the first time this year, the fifth edition of MADRID HORSE WEEK, will held  a “Doma Vaquera” competition. In addition to including this new discipline, the organization has created, in collaboration with the Doma Vaquera Club in Madrid, the “Doma Vaquera” Masters Cup.

This competition consists of seven scoring events within the preliminary phase, which have been developed from May to October in different locations of Spain: Jerez, Copa del Rey de Portaje, Arroyo la Luz, Mairena del Aljarafe, Andévalo, Miraflores de la Sierra and the Spanish Championship of Carmona, before the grand final that will be held in Madrid between the 23rd and 26th of November. The 2-day event will bring together the top 10 Binomials of the league, classified in the mentioned previous phase.

 Nowadays, the overall classification is headed by Jonatan Peña Cordero (26 pts), winner of the test in Arroyo de la Luz and runner-up in Mairena del Aljarafe; with the same score, second on the list is placed Bernardo Hernandez Ortiz, closely followed by Jose Pablo Rodríguez Román, who with 25 points is placed third with a great distance from the fourth place.

 It is the first time the “Doma Vaquera” is organized in a circuit of this kind, a unique setting for this discipline, a fact that arouses the interest of riders and fans. The last scoring event before the MADRID HORSE WEEK final will be held at the Spanish Championship of Carmona, from 13 to 15 October.
