A local rider, Jesús Bamonde, was the winner of the Porsche Trophy, the big class of the second day of the CSI3* A Coruña.

The Porsche Trophy was the second class of Saturday's morning program, reserved for the two rounds of the 3* competition, and was contested over two phases, with 26 riders making it through to the second phase.

The class had for a long time as provisional leader the young Belgian rider Thibault Philippaerts, who with "Obama de la Liniere" used in the second phase 27'65 seconds. However, the classification changed significantly in the final stretch, in which a local rider put all his efforts to take the lead and succeeded with courage and success.

Jesús Bamonde, a rider based in Casas Novas, with a long projection in national and international competition, went all out with "AGR Trouble Maker", a horse born in Spain, trained and placed in the competition by Bamonde himself, and achieved what seemed impossible: stopping the stopwatch in 26'65 seconds after jumping all the obstacles without fault, including the vertical Porsche that closed the course. A record that gave him the victory, although there were several attempts to overcome it.

So tight was the outcome of the class, that two participants tied on time for second place: Portugal's Duarte Seabra with "HHS Washington" and Spain's Carolina Villanueva riding "Voice de Chenaie", both with 27'48. In the end, Thibault Philippaerts had to settle for fourth place, while British rider Michael Whitaker was fifth with "Chacco's Lando".

After the prize giving ceremony, which was conducted by Irene Carrera, Bussines Area Manager of Porsche Ibérica, Jesús Bamonde was very excited about his victory. "It is a dream to win in Casas Novas, the club where I started riding and where I ride every day. I had been second in some of the international competitions that have been held here, but today is my first victory. It is something very special to win an international event in these facilities, in front of family and friends".

Regarding "AGR Trouble Maker", Bamonde commented that "he started to ride big very early, when he was 7 years old he was already doing the ranking classes. Now I am dosing it a little, since I have another horse, "Caporal D'Elle", which also allows me to run big. With "Caporal D'Elle" I will compete in the Grand Prix Prosegur of the CSI3* on Sunday".
