Record of attendance of the last 10 years in the CSI4 * A Coruña

Record of attendance of the last 10 years in the CSI4 * A Coruña

A resounding success in the XXXIV edition of the CSI4* A Coruña; an edition that many already consider one of the best editions of this summer show hosted by Casas Novas.

The Galician climate gave some respite to both riders and spectators, accompanying with clear and sunny days a weekend full of both sports and attendance triumphs. Few times Casas Novas has seen the stands so full since early hours of the morning. The Galician public went to the installations in Larín to enjoy the first class of the day and the different entertainments that the center offered.

THREE TRIUMPH FOR CANADA IN A VERY INTERNATIONAL SHOW

A very excited Jaclyn Duff picked up her trophy in the CaixaBank Grand Prix while Canada’s anthem was playing for the third time this weekend in Casas Novas.Riding Eh All or None, Duff was the winner of the most important class of the weekend. The Canadian, who had already been the first to finish the First Round without fault, was able to resist the pressure and faced a final course with an amazing time of 44.23 seconds. And that earned the 30-year-old rider her first International Grand Prix of 4*, after competing in Knokke and Calgary. Second place for Olivier Robert and Eros, who endured the pressure of being the last binomial of the Second Round and finished in 45.31 seconds. And applauded with excitement by the Galician public, the Spanish Julio Arias took the third place, with 48.48 seconds, which also gave him the Tyco Trophy  to the best Spanish rider qualified in this class. These three were the only ones that were able to finish without fault in both rounds.

The Longines Trophy left in hands of another Canadian, in this case Yann Candele, after beating everyone else in a thrilling Winning Round. Candele, member of the national team of Canada, riding Usa Normande was number 12 in the Start List but that did not stopped him from setting an amazing time of 41,82 seconds. A quota that until that moment no rival had achieved, and that only Gudrun Patteet and Sea Coast Ideo d’O were able to approach being the last rider in the arena. The Belgian, who in 2016 won the same Trophy, tried hard but finally finished second with a time of 42.18 seconds. Completing the podium was the Spanish, Julio Arias riding Reggae du Tillard.

Candele’s victory takes on a larger dimension facing the fact that it is the first time he rides this horse, as is Nicolas Paillot the one that usually rides Usa Normande; but on this occasion he has not been able to compete in La Coruña because of a last minute injury.

And reaffirming the quality of the Canadian riders in this edition of the CSI4* A Coruña, Tiffany Foster  raised the NH Collection Trophy on the first day. Riding Brighton, she was the only one able to snatch the first place from the Frenchman Aldrick Cheronnet, who was third this morning in the Marqués de Riscal Trophy, and with a time of 65.61 seconds seemed to cling to the first place. But with a seamless run and a time of 65.53 seconds, Foster proved that the challenges are made to overcome them. She was accompanied on the podium by Cheronnet himself and another Frenchman, Reynald Angot, who finished with 66.49 seconds, riding Symphonie des Biches.

However, the distribution of trophies has been very international in this edition of the CSI4* A Coruña: France, with four trophies, four second places and three thirds; Spain and Portugal raised one trophy each. They also had one second place each and, four third places for Spain, and one Portuguese. Completing the list, Belgium with two second places and a third, and Holland, with a second place.
