From March 22 to 25, the best equestrian circuit in the world returns to Mexico, a wonderful country that is betting on the organization of sporting events with international media coverage. This is the case of the Longines Global Champions Tour, the so-called F1 of the equestrian, which in 2018 will visit 17 exclusive cities and will distribute 40 million USD in prizes, a record number in the history of equestrian sport.
Mexico will have the privilege of being the first venue of the 2018 circuit and the only stage in Latin America, with the riders and amazons with the best ranking worldwide. The event will be in Campo Marte since it has the best grass track in Mexico, worthy of a first level international competition. In addition, 50 years of the Olympic Games of Mexico 1968 are celebrated and fate has wanted to repeat the story: the best riders and horses in the world will compete, half a century later, on the same stage. The Campo Marte will once again be the epicenter of the world horse race for the pride of Mexico and of all Mexicans. A magnificent opportunity to internationally claim the organizational capacity of this great country.
The sports program consists of two simultaneous competitions, a CSi5 * reserved for the top riders, and a CSI2 * in which a large number of Mexican riders and Amazons will participate. Thirteen tests in which € 1,165,380 will be distributed, and of which we must highlight:
- LGCT Grand Prix of Mexico at 1.60 meters. Tall. It will be held on Saturday from 4.15pm with a € 310,000 prize pool.
- Global Champions League, GNP Insurance Trophy, at a height of 1.55 / 1.60mts. Two prizes are awarded, the one that wins the day’s test (GNP Insurance Trophy) and the winners of the circuit, which together add a bag of more than € 410,000 in total for this test.
