MAIKEL VAN DER VLEUTEN shines in the first date of the CSI4* CASAS NOVAS
13 Jul 2024The Dutch rider put in an incredible performance in the two rounds of the 4* International Show Jumping Competition with a win and a second place.
The highlight of the day came to Casas Novas with the Caixabank Trophy, with a height of 1.50m with a time trial and a tiebreaker.
An exciting test in which 15 riders qualified for a tiebreaker where the victory was close until the last moment. Finally it was Maikel van der Vleuten who won, in a track that he knows perfectly and where he usually gives great performances. The Dutch rider was on the podium again, this time as the first classified, after obtaining the second place in the NH Collection Trophy, with a time of 33.87s with "Diwys HH".
The second place of the great test of the day was for the Portuguese Rodrigo Giesteira Almedia, with a time of 33.93s he was at the gates of the first place with "Karonia. L". The podium of the Caixabank Trophy was completed by the experienced French rider Simon Delestre, who finished the course in 34.23s with "Crack d'Aiguilly Z".
