CSI1* Madrid: Triumph of Spanish Carolina Villanueva in the Caixabank Trophy

The Caixabank Trophy was disputed on 1'40 meters obstacles, divided in two phases. Fifty teams took part and 19 of them managed to finish both phases without penalties.

The fastest was Carolina Villanueva, who, thanks to the experience of a 15-year-old horse, such as “Voice de Chenaie”, a specialist in speed trials, with which the Asturian rider usually competes, was once again a successful combination. When they crossed the finish line, the stopwatch stopped in 28.56 seconds, only 32 hundredths less than the record set by the Argentine Martin Dopazo riding “Carlina Z”.

Third was the Spanish rider, Alejandro Entrecanales, with “Baby Boy du Murger” (30'25).

In the ceremony that followed, after the Spanish national anthem was played in honor of the winner, Carolina Villanueva, the rider received the CaixaBank Trophy from Xicu Costa, Territorial Director of Caixabank in Madrid.
