A great test for a great competition. The Grand Prix of Madrid Longines Global Champions Tour put the finishing touch to the 113th CSI5* Madrid, with the triumph of Christian KukuK riding “Checker 47”

Christian Kukuk was the winner of the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix, the most important event of the CSI5* of Madrid, with an impressive ride in the tiebreaker riding the veteran horse, “Checker 47”.

The German rider thrilled the audience that crowded the Club de Campo-Villa de Madrid, with her dizzying ride without fault in 45.85 seconds, beating the other German,

Marco Kutscher, who until then was leading the provisional classification being the first zero in a time of 53.99 seconds.

The test was disputed by 39 groups, 8 of them overcame without faults the course designed and built by the course manager Santiago Varela Ullastres.

Spanish rider Eduardo Álvarez Aznar qualified for the tiebreaker with “Rokfeller”, but he arrived badly to one of the last jumps of the barrage, knocking down the obstacle, which made him lose any chance of victory.

Maikel van der Vleuten took the second place with “Beauville Z NOP” and the third place went to the Belgian Gilles Thomas with “Ermitage Kalone”.

The winner, Christian Kukuk, received the Longines Global Champions Tour Madrid 2024 Grand Prix trophy from Infanta Elena.
