Epic Victory of Hans Dieter Dreher in the Estrella Damm Trophy 1.50m

German rider Hans Dieter Dreher won today the Estrella Damm Trophy 1.50m, one of the most anticipated tests of the day at IFEMA Madrid Horse Week. Dreher, riding Vestmalle des Cotis, has achieved a spectacular time of 43.95 seconds in the tiebreaker, beating all her rivals with an impeccable ride.

In second place, the Spanish rider Teresa Blázquez Abascal made a great performance with Nasa de Toxandria, making a very fast ride that was about to snatch the victory from the German. With 44.08 seconds, Blázquez Abascal was only a tenth of a second behind Dreher, achieving a well-deserved second place.

The Dutch Maikel van der Vleuten, with El Wikke, also had an outstanding performance, making an impressive cut in the course, but, even so, he could not beat Dreher's time, being in third place with 45.75 seconds.

Of the 45 participants in the race, only 12 made it to the winning heat, where the competition was fierce. Of those 12, 6 managed to complete the course with zero faults in this winning round. The top three were joined by the Dutch Leopold van Asten with VDL Groep Kiara, the German Marcus Ehning with Flower Girl, and the Italian Clara Pezzoli with Fantasia de Beaufour.

Irish rider Michael Pender has achieved an impressive victory in the CSI 5* Virtus Trophy 1.45m at IFEMA Madrid Horse Week, after a very fast ride with his horse HHS Vancouver, with a time of 61.95 seconds, which was enough for him to get on the podium again.

The Austrian Alessandra Reich, with Galadermie PP Z, also signed a spectacular ride, finishing in 62.74 seconds, which allowed her to take second place.

French Philipp Rozier completed the podium in third place, with a time of 62.90 seconds riding his mare Dirty Sweer, in a very fast ride that left him just one tenth of a second behind the Austrian rider.

The Virtus Trophy was presented to the winner by Javier Rozas, General Manager of Bodegas Virtus.

Kevin González de Zárate wins his fourth Porsche Jump&Drive Trophy at IFEMA Madrid Horse Week

The second day of IFEMA Madrid Horse Week closed with a thrilling adrenaline test: the Porsche Jump&Drive Trophy, which for the first time was broadcasted live by the leading motor network DAZN, adding even more excitement to the competition.The main dispute for the victory was between five Spanish riders. Amaia Ucelay was the first to go, clocking a time of 65.10 seconds with her trusty horse Diamand du Breche. Next, Fernando de los Santos, winner of the last edition of the trophy, beat Ucelay with a time of 61.13 seconds riding Isba Caps.Alejandro Entrecanales, with Baby Boy du Murger, was next on the list, achieving the best time up to that moment with 60.96 seconds. Then, Felipe Pérez surprised the audience with a risky ride with Happyfeet v't Hof Terrijckel Z, finishing with an impressive time of 59.95 seconds.Finally, Kevin González de Zárate sealed his victory with his fourth Porsche Jump&Drive Trophy at IFEMA Madrid Horse Week. With a spectacular performance with his mare Catuccini 17, and a fast Porsche ride, he set an unbeatable time of 54.97 seconds, becoming the undisputed champion of the event.The award was presented by Tomás Villén, General Manager of Porsche Ibérica, who congratulated Kevin for his outstanding victory in this exciting competition.

Jaume Puntí Dachs and María Álvarez del Pontón have been chosen to receive the Madrid Horse Week award in its 2024 edition. With this recognition, which in recent editions have received figures such as journalist Paloma del Río, the legendary rider Fernando Martínez de Albornoz “Pichi” and H.R.H. the Infanta Elena “for their invaluable contribution to the promotion of equestrian sports”, the Board of Trustees of the MHW Foundation and its Organizing Committee shed light on the raid, a demanding endurance discipline in which, thanks to these two athletes, Spain is a world power.
