Pedro Mateos is crowned champion of the Cantabria Sport Grand Prix of the Gold League

Pedro Mateos was crowned the winner of the Cantabria Sport Grand Prix of the Gold League, the most outstanding event of the CSN5* in the fourth venue of the RFHE National Jumping League, which took place at Heras Horses & Events. Riding “Quizás CC”, the Madrid rider achieved an exciting victory, leading the jump-off from the start. Pello Elorduy took second place with “Champenoise de Rampan”, while Carlos Calvo took third place with “Bellagio Massuere”.
The trophy was presented by Eva Guillermina Fernández, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sport of the Government of Cantabria, together with Susana Ruiz, General Director of Sport.
With this result, Álvaro González de Zarate remains the leader in the provisional classification of the Gold League with 145 points, followed by Pello Elorduy, who has 142 points.
In another exciting competition, the Gran Premio Securitas Direct, corresponding to the Liga Plata with a height of 1.40m, Pello Elorduy took the victory riding “Lightning McQueen” in the jump-off, where eleven pairs participated. The Biscayan rider stood out on the course, leaving Mariano Martínez Bastida in second place with “Quando Van den Heuvel” and Pedro Mateos in third place with “Flach Mouche”.
The trophy was presented by Roberto Laherrán, president of the Cantabrian federation.
In the provisional classification of the Liga Plata, Pello Elorduy leads with 142 points, followed by Rubén Gómez Crespo with 128 points and Kevin Gonzales de Zarate in third position with 119 points.
The next venue will be held from August 16 to 18 at the CHAS in Gijón.
