14 May 2024Eduardo Álvarez Aznar, leader of the Longines Global Champions Tour Championship, heads the announcement of the riders who will participate in the Madrid leg this weekend (May 17-19). As the circuit moves into the European stages, the lineup of the world's best equestrian talents, representing a total of 22 nationalities, is revealed.
The current LGCT leader, Eduardo Álvarez Aznar, prepares to defend his position at home in the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Madrid. He will compete at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid against top contenders, including Max Khüner, who trails closely behind by just 5 points in the LGCT Championship.
The competition will feature six of the current top eight riders in the LGCT Championship standings, promising an exciting show. Among them are prominent figures such as Nicola Philippaerts, winner of the Mexico Grand Prix, Gilles Thomas, recent victor of the Shanghai Grand Prix, Christian Kukuk, Katrin Eckermann, Philipp Weishaupt, show jumping legend John Whitaker, two-time LGCT champion Scott Brash, Maikel van der Vleuten, world number one Henrik von Eckermann, Laura Kraut, and Niels Bruynseels.
The star-studded lineup also includes three-time LGCT champion Ben Maher, and elite Spanish riders such as Sergio Álvarez Moya, Armando Trapote, Manuel Fernández Saro, Mariano Martínez Bastida, and Teresa Blázquez-Abascal, who will also be competing.
The event will offer spectators the chance to witness top-level competition, along with a weekend full of leisure and entertainment, thanks to the Commercial Village, Pony Park by ¡HOLA!, FoodTrucks, and much more!
Tickets are now available through the website www.tickets.oxersport.com, with prices ranging from €14 to €25, as well as weekend passes for €41 (€31 for federated members).
Children between 7 and 13 years old will receive a discount of up to 50% on the indicated prices, while younger children will have free admission.
