Around 410 horses competed in eight classes here at Montenmedio.

The Young Horse Classes began today with over 100 competitors. In the 7yr old section the winning combination was  Stephan Naber riding “Cyber Ziekeline”.  The best Spanish riders in this class were Luis Plaza, from Seville; the Basque rider Taragh Dyer and from Madrid,  Asís Arango Lasaosa.

In the 1.20m CSI2*the British rider Jay Halim riding “Dane Z” took first place. 

In the Small Tour 1.30m there was a British top three, with a win for Jodie Hall Mcateer riding “TJ Quincy”. Jessica Dimmock riding “Billy Fleance” took second and Leonie Aitkenhead riding “D. Millfield Darin” third.

There was a British top two in the Milton arena where the 1.35m class was won by Kayleigh Watts and“ Kilbarron Rue”, with Sally Hopkinson and “Crystal Clear” taking second.

Both the Medium B, 1.40m class and the Big Class, 1.45m class, were held over two phases and took place in the grass ‘David Broome’ arena.  In the former, the Dutch rider Henk Van De Pol was the winner, riding “Looyman Z” and the highest placer Spanish rider was Asis Arango riding “Desdecasa Tresor de Laume” who took 6th.  In the 1.45m, was won by New Zealand rider Lisa Cubitt with“Uncas S”; Lisa also took third at the 1.40 class.
